Today this is the principal tower, but, originally there were three designed to carry the first fire arms.
From the Tour Carrée there is access on to the fortifications (not dangerous) from which there are imposing views over the valley.
Access is from the private sitting room at the top; below, the bedroom and bathroom, with independant wc, has four canon holes which protected the north and west façades of the fortress.
The double bed (140 cm) and comfortable furnishings are far from warlike, but looking out one can still feel a sense of feudal power.
